Password Protecting Pages

You can restrict access to a page and its subpages by enabling password protection.

How to Enable Protection

  • Go to Media → Pages
  • Click Properties for the desired page
  • Open the Security section
  • Set Use Password Protection to Yes

You can also choose whether to apply protection to subpages by enabling Protect Subpages.

Access Types

Select how visitors will gain access to the page:

  1. Username and Password: Requires shared login credentials
  2. Passcode: Requires a simple access code
  3. Any Account Login: Allows any registered user to log in
  4. Specific Accounts: Restricts access to selected users only

Once saved, visitors must meet the selected access requirement before viewing the page content.

Important Notes

  • If you are logged into the Site Manager, you will not be prompted for credentials. The system recognizes you as an administrator. To test protection, log out or use a private browser window.
  • Password protection restricts access to page content only. It does not secure files in the Files area. For sensitive file sharing, use a secure service such as Google Drive or Box.

Tip

Password protection controls who can access a page, while Publishing settings control when a page is available. These can be used together when needed.
