Publishing Pages

Publishing controls allow you to control when entire pages are available on your website. This works similarly to section publishing but applies to the whole page.

How to Access Page Publishing

  • Navigate to Media → Pages
  • Click Page Properties for your page
  • Open the Publishing section

Publishing Options

  • Status: Set the page to Published (visible) or Draft (hidden)
  • Publish Start: Set a future date and time for the page to become available
  • Publish End: Set a date and time for the page to automatically become unavailable
  • Season: Display the page only during specific church seasons

What Visitors See

When a page is not published, the page layout (header, footer, and design) still loads, but the page content is replaced with a message:

This page is not currently available.

This ensures a consistent experience while clearly indicating that the page is not accessible.

Important: Menu Visibility

Publishing settings do not control whether a page appears in your website menu.

  • Go to Page Properties → Menus
  • Enable or disable menu options (Main Menu, Dropdown, etc.)

A page can be hidden from the menu but still accessible by direct link.

Understanding Status Labels

  • Visible: The page is currently available
  • Draft: The page is not published
  • Scheduled: The page will be available in the future
  • Expired: The page is no longer available

Common Uses

  • Prepare pages before making them public
  • Schedule event or announcement pages
  • Temporarily disable pages without deleting them
  • Automatically remove outdated content

Tips

  • Use Draft when building new pages
  • Use scheduling for time-sensitive content
  • Always verify menu settings separately
  • Test your page before publishing
